A master's job is
never done, it lives on through the ages.
The annual Installation of Officers was held on December 15, 1984. The Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons of California Vernon L. Gordon was the installing officer. After the ceremonies refreshments were served in the dining hall.
In January a discussion for new carpet in the Lodge room was tabled. A motion to charge $1.00 for the use of tableware was also defeated. In March there was a special dispensation for elections needed after the resignation of the Junior Warden.
In April there was a report given by the committee for the upcoming 75th anniversary of the Lodge. In May the Lodge decided to but 300 Bolero ties for a fund raiser.
On May 25th there was the annual Past Masters night and a good time was enjoyed by all.
On June 25th Bro. Thomas Howison Jr. passed away and was laid to rest in Clovis Cemetery. Bro. Thomas was Secretary of Clovis Lodge for 43 years and a member for almost 68 years. He either held an elected of appointed office for 55 consecutive years. Kind words spoken were, "He will be missed at the piano, every one who belonged to this lodge knew and respected him, may he long be remembered."
In July Bro. James Russell was installed as Junior Warden and Bro. Alan Burnham was installed as Senior Deacon.
On October 12th, Bro. John Ivan Polson, Past Master of Clovis Lodge passed away. He was the oldest living Past Master of Clovis Lodge. Kind words spoken were, "He was made a Mason in Clovis Lodge in 1922, much of the history of Clovis Lodge left us with his passing. He will be missed by everyone who knew and respected him."
Also in October an application for affiliation was received by Bro. Ralph T. Enloe Jr. who's father and grandfather were both members of Clovis Lodge. There was also another discussion about the carpet in the Lodge room and they had quite a discussion on our 75th anniversary party.
On December 5th at the annual Roll Call Dinner, Bro. Richard Matthews PM gave a report on the 75th anniversary party and what a time it was and also a report on the bolo ties.
Brethren lost to death in this year were Bro's. Paul Calvin Mitchell- 50 year member, Thomas Howison Jr., Gilbert James Marshall- 50 year member, Orville Henry Ambrosia, Roy Hamilton Jr., Robert Hooker Quick, John Ivan Polson Sr. PM, Clyde Lewis Gibson, Harold James Laudig.
